The Story Behind Blood PressureX Olive trees are among the oldest known cultivated trees, spreading throughout the Middle East and the Mediterranean over 6,000 years ago. In fact, some trees have lived over 2,000 years! Before they can bear edible fruit, olive trees must mature, a process that takes between 65 to 80 years. Grapes have a long history of traditional medicinal use dating back to ancient Greece. More recent research has focused on the potential of phytonutrients like resveratrol and proanthocyanidin that are found in the seed and skin of the grape. Arginine was first discovered in the late 1800s, but it didn’t enter the limelight until much later. The discovery of nitric oxide’s pivotal role in cardiovascular health earned a Nobel Prize in medicine1998, making arginine an overnight star. Since that discovery 25 years ago, over 65,000 published papers refer to nitric oxide in some way.
